Who We Are

Fort Worth local family-owned online retail business born out of a dream to encourage creativity, talent, knowledge, and growth to one's full potential.
Purposed to minimize waste in our local society, Simple Wood Ideas strives to repurpose and upcycle furniture for variety of looks: from simple and elegant to modern and contemporary styles.
Founded and owned by a Texan small business woman entrepreneur, Elaine Marcus is also a mother and a wife who believes in American dream for better and simpler life for future generations.
Our Story
2003 - 2008
Newly-wed couple started repairing old broken furniture in their garage.
2008 - 2013
Selling used furniture online made it possible to warehouse it at a storage facility in South Fort Worth .
2013-2015
Much of donated broken furniture was shipped on pallets and wooden crates, thus making it possible to reclaim the wood material for woodworking.
2015-present
With the help of large wood reclaiming equipment and accumulated byproducts of broken furniture (knobs, hinges, etc), Simple Wood Ideas Custom Furniture was brought to life with trial and error projects.
